Normally, big and small distilleries tend to release their new and exciting whiskies during fall. However, this year, with Christmas just around the corner, distilleries are still surprising us. This varies between bourbon, rye, single malt and Irish whiskies.
With this in mind, we cannot avoid affirming that the world is asking for more from this incredible beverage. It is becoming more knowledgeable and thus, it want more variety and new tasting notes.

- Old Overholt Bonded Rye
The original was already a favorite amongst the whisky lovers. This new selection offers still the same spice and char but with a little more heat and a higher time spent in the barrel. At a very competitive cost, this is a must for you to try.
- Aberlour 16 Year Old Single Cask
Although this whisky is a Illinois-exclusive release, there are words in the market that this is only the first release of more single casks. If you live or are visiting Chicago, make sure to stop by a liquor store and buy a bottle. You willl find some interesting tropical notes on this whisky with hints of vanilla and honey.
- Glen Grant 15
Unlike its direct competitors, the Glen Grand 15 has a lighter flavour profile. This makes it easier to drink and more approachable. Note however, that it is still a complex and flavourful whiskey with hints of dry spice and bright citrus notes.
- Barrell Bourbon Batch 015
The batch 015 is a new bourbon release coming out in early this year. Barrel is always bringing new surprises and this batch is a incredibly pleasant one. With notes of apple, nutmeg and cardamom, you will find this whisky perfect for this season.
- Glenmorangie Spios
Aged exclusively in ex-rye whiskey casks, Glenmorangie was able to create a masterpiece. Following its name “Spios’? in Gaelic meaning spice, this whisky offers the rye’s spice and peppery notes with a smooth end that makes you crave for more.
